About Guestling House
Guestling House provides a warm welcome and a cosy B&B stay in this Victorian style building. This rustic country home sits in 20 beautiful acres of rolling farmland, nestled in the East Sussex countryside, conveniently placed between the historic towns of Hastings and Rye.
There is ample parking at the Farmhouse and the A259 is on the doorstep, so local sites of interest can easily be reached by car, bus and bike, with plenty of local walking routes to suit ramblers and those seeking fresh, country air. There are ancient woodlands to explore and a newly planted Estate vineyard, producing English wines. Locally made wine and cider can be purchased to enjoy al fresco or inside by the log fire.
Our Rooms
Guestling House provides 7 rustic bedrooms, some ensuite but all with their own bathroom, so groups and families are all welcome. Natural wooden floors and large windows ensure maximum light and views.
Food & Drink
A simple continental breakfast can be delivered to rooms each morning and the informal, country style kitchen can provide hot, home-cooked soups for hungry travellers and those returning from long country walks.
Vineyard & Kitchen Garden
Guestling Farmhouse has its own kitchen garden where fresh herbs and vegetables will be used in home cooked dishes to sample. Guests are welcome to pick their own when in season.
Local Area
Local area attractions include the historic towns of Hastings, Rye and Battle, as well as Bodiam Castle and the beautiful countryside of East Sussex.

Wir waren hier nur für eine Nacht, aber das war schon echt toll: Traumhaftes Ambiente, schöne Zimmer, Frühstück, das vor die Tür gestellt wird, sodass man Essen kann wann man will. Draußen bei gutem Wetter stehen Grill und Pizzaofen bereit und auf dem anliegenden Weinberg kann man durchaus mit dem ein oder anderen Gläschen Wein den Abend genießen.

Un hôtel familial avec beaucoup de charme qui accepte les animaux (nous avons 2 chiens). Le personnel est très accueillant et très gentil. La chambre est très spacieuse et le petit déjeuner est servi dans un panier pique-nique déposé derrière la porte le matin. Le cadre est calme et joli, c'était parfait pour une nuit reposante avant de reprendre la route.

What's not to love about this place?! Greeted by the chickens and what a lovely building they have. The rooms are spacious and very clean. We were greeted by Shannon who is so friendly. Breakfast as mentioned in other reviews is a breakfast basket with pastries, fruit, fresh coffee for the French press and fresh orange juice and milk. And to top it off there were delicious jambons in there too! Genuinely some of the best value we've found during our travels. We woo uld happily come back again, if we ever find ourselves passing through. Oh and they're dog friendly too! 🐕🦺 Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Charming old-country hotel with a lot of character and a cozy, almost manor-house atmosphere. The lounges and common areas are especially memorable — antique furniture, fireplaces, rugs, chess tables, vintage décor, and large windows overlooking greenery give the place a warm and unique feel. It feels much more personal and atmospheric than a standard chain hotel. The service was genuinely friendly and helpful throughout the stay, which made a big difference and added to the relaxed atmosphere. The main downside is that the rooms are somewhat dated and could use modernization in places. Nothing terrible, but you can definitely feel the age of the property. Overall, a very pleasant stay if you appreciate charm and atmosphere over modern luxury. Strong 4/5.

Weekday meals are a very good price and the menu offers choice. Sunday lunch is really good and mid price with plenty of choice on mains and dessert. Staff are attentive and always polite. Ambiance is welcoming.

Lovely decorated and comfortable room, very welcoming atmosphere, great outdoor space to rest and relax with nice countryside views. Delicious breakfast and indulgent cakes. The people clearly take great care and pride in looking after their guests and the house. Thank you for being so accommodating and welcoming. Great location for walking/hiking and getting into Hastings or Rye too.

We so loved GH we stayed an extra night. A truly special and welcoming place made more special by Shannon ( and her little "helper" Gracie). Comfy bed, fluffy towels and complimentary continental breakfast basket delivered to your door at old school prices. Homey, country vibes with no "boutique B&B" pretentiousness. Cannot wait to stay again!

Verified Für den Preis eine nette Unterkunft für eine Nacht. ☺Die Gastgeberin war sehr freundlich. In dem großen, geschmackvoll eingerichteten Wohnzimmer fühlte man sich sehr willkommen. Die Zimmer hatten schöne Möbel. Es war sauber. ☹Die Qualität des Bettes, es gab keine Nachttische und kein Licht am Bett. Das Bad war sehr einfach und Dusche sehr eng.

Verified ☺Maison propre et joliment décorée, située dans un cadre très bucolique. Nous avons bien apprécié le petit déjeuner déposé à notre porte le matin et que nous avons ensuite pu manger sur une petite table dans le jardin. ☹Gênés par le bruit des autres locataires car les parois sont fines et les portes grincent fortement.

Verified Hondvriendelijke basic accommodatie met vriendelijke ontvangst, lekker ontbijt en grote tuin. ☺Hartelijke ontvangst en op zich prima, basic ingerichte kamers, met een prima badkamer op de gang (niet gedeeld). Ontbijtmandje met verse producten werd voor de kamerdeur gezet en je kon het desgewenst buiten in het zitje of op een van de picknicktafels opeten. Zelf koffie of thee zetten. Grote tuin en gezellig setting met rondlopende kippen, hanen en eenden. Ik denk op zich prima prijs/kwaliteit verhouding. ☹Ik vond het bed slecht, kreeg pijn in mijn rug en heb de halve nacht zittend op de bank geslapen. Mijn reisgenoten hadden hier overigens veel minder last van, al vonden ze het ook niet supercomfortabel. De hanen begonnen, uiteraard zeer vroeg, onder ons raam te kraaien en hielden ook niet echt op, en dat kwam de toch al niet beste nachtrust niet helemaal ten goede. Toch vind ik het wel een leuke accommodatie, maar ik hou wel van dat landelijke met die kippen e.d. 🙂
